Andrea Burleson

Assessment and Consulting Experience
Andrea’s thirty-year career includes a variety of assessment, consulting and in-house
talent management. For the past twelve years as a consultant, Andrea has specialized in
leadership assessment, coaching, and facilitation. She has partnered with leaders across
industries such as professional services, energy, quick service restaurants,
manufacturing and banking to increase their success leading their teams. Her coaching
style is collaborative and results-oriented, utilizing several different assessments, with
the goal of helping leaders improve their interpersonal effectiveness, executive
presence, and ability to inspire others to higher performance. Her clients have included
McDonald’s, Entergy, TVA, EZ Corp, United Airlines, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Parker
Hannifin, and Chicago Public Schools.

Business and Career Background
Prior to consulting, Andrea held talent management roles for companies such as Exelon
Nuclear, United Airlines, and Square D Company. At Exelon, she facilitated talent
reviews with site leaders (site VPs, Plant Managers, Key Managers, HR Managers) and
partnered with leaders in creating robust development and career plans for high
potential employees. She also delivered Career Development seminars and one-on-one
leadership coaching to management level employees to increase their leadership

At United Airlines, she was primarily responsible for managing the company’s
Performance Management process. This included the design and implementation of a
new system-wide performance management process, which included partnering with
the Leadership Development team to design education sessions on the new process. In
addition, she delivered employee survey results to senior leaders, facilitated enterprise-wide
discussions for action planning, and served as an assessor in the company’s Purser
Qualification program. She also contributed to employee assessment processes, which
included the design and implementation of an assessment center for a newly formed
company division.

Education and Certifications
Andrea received her Ph.D. in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from DePaul
University and her B.A. in Psychology from Southwestern University. She is a member of
the American Psychological Association, and is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC)
through the International Coach Federation. She is certified on the 16PF and in the
Hogan Assessment System, and she uses assessments such as MBTI and FIRO-B for
team-building and career planning. She has also used a variety of 360-survey instruments
for development and coaching.
