Kim has over 25 years of experience in consulting with large corporations to design and deliver leadership development and coaching. She possesses a well-crafted coaching approach that accelerates the development of emerging and senior leaders and their teams worldwide. She works with her clients to strengthen and integrate emotional intelligence into their professional lives to maximize their impact as leaders. Kim works with clients to understand their development opportunities and strengths before acting towards their coaching goals. Most recently, Kim has coached individuals and teams in hospitality, entertainment, insurance and manufacturing industries and has experience with both senior executives and rising leaders within global companies. She has also worked with clients around the world on cultural diversity and its impact on leadership approach.
Business and Career Background
Prior to professional consulting and coaching, Kim held leadership roles in the global and private banking business, honing skills in risk assessment, funding and managing domestic operations and financing international exports for clients with privately held and large public companies. This experience provided Kim insight and strong business acumen when partnering with leaders of any level, from executives to entrepreneurs, and their teams. Kim was also a Senior Consultant for Korn Ferry Futurestep, where she delivered proprietary leadership assessment and recruiting for companies based in the Southwest.
As Kim started her career in executive coaching, she delivered senior leadership programs and coaching worldwide for senior leadership groups and individuals. Client industries include aerospace, satellite communications and transportation, hospitality, consumer goods, education, chemical, and professional services. In 2001, she founded her own company, which began as a compensation design and performance consultancy for global, private and public sector organizations. Through an experienced network of experts in compensation, benefits and talent development, they delivered pay and performance studies for global organizations across many industries including petrochemical, drilling, distribution, retail, pharmaceutical and government. In 2011, the company transitioned the business to an exclusive, executive coaching and leadership development practice.
Education and Certifications
Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in AgEconomics, and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University in AgEconomics and Organizational Behavior. She is an ICF certified Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and holds several certifications, including The Birkman Method™, Emotional Styles and Climate Inventory (ESCI by HayGroup), and Systems Dynamics in Organizations (SDOI from The Bert Hellinger Institute in The Netherlands). In addition, she is a member of the Houston and International Coaching Federation, the Association of Talent Development and the Conscious Capitalism initiative in Houston.
