Margaret is a Certified Executive Coach and business advisor with experience in leadership development. She has been a trusted strategic advisor to corporate clients in recruiting talent and building organizational leadership. She has developed strategies with Boards of Directors and senior executives to cultivate competencies for success. Her experience includes assessing over 3,500 executives on their qualifications, skills, and leadership styles. For succession planning projects, she has advised corporate clients on addressing competency gaps for internal candidates as they prepare for more responsibilities.
Margaret has coached clients on a range of development goals, including transitioning to new roles, increasing influence, using strategic communications, showing confidence and executive presence, gaining visibility, being a mindful and active listener, using collaborative skills, and building strong teams. Her clients appreciate her strategic business and pragmatic approach coupled with her warm personal style.
Margaret has a rich knowledge of multiple industries, including financial services, private equity, insurance, consumer goods, cosmetics/luxury goods, retail, technology, consulting, and nonprofit. She also has in-depth knowledge of multiple functions, including board directorship, finance, investment, strategy, marketing, consulting, communications, sales, operations and technology.
Business and Career Background
Margaret began her career in marketing at General Foods, Citigroup and Oppenheimer Management. She had a 25-year career in executive search of which 18 years were with Spencer Stuart and Korn Ferry. As a revenue-generating consultant, she was an advisor to C-suite executives, including CEOs, Presidents, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, CIOs, CHROs, and Boards of Directors. She understands their perspectives and expectations on leadership development and leverages this knowledge in her coaching approach. She has deep experience managing senior clients and leading corporate engagements successfully to achieve client goals.
She is a coach for The Leadership Lab at Columbia Business School. She is also an alumni coach for The Wharton School, Columbia Business School and the University of Pennsylvania.
Education and Certifications
Margaret obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from New York University. She then went on to get a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. She also earned her Executive Coaching Certification at the highest level from Columbia University. Margaret is certified to administer and interpret Hogan Assessments.
