Shelby Hill has over 20 years of experience as a learning and development professional, including 12 years’ experience as an executive coach, consultant and facilitator. He has worked with clients ranging from high potentials to senior leaders and is known for his genuine ability to build relationships and engage with clients. Shelby is passionate about people development and believes self-awareness and social consciousness are essential to effective leadership and career development.
Shelby approaches all clients with a curious perspective and the expectations of a collaborative partnership. He exercises a blend of practical and innovative methods to accomplish measurable outcomes with clients, including the utilization of psychometric assessments to help clients develop self and relationship awareness amongst their peers and direct reports. Shelby exerts his skills and talent to help leaders establish strong workplace relationships and a high performing workplace culture through communication, strategy, motivation to lead, and emotional intelligence.
Business and Career Background
Shelby currently serves as a Senior Partner with AdventHealth’s Leadership and Talent Development Team in Orlando, FL. In his role, he coaches, consults and facilitates growth for leaders at the operational, strategic, and executive levels across the Central Florida Division, which includes 25,000 employees and 4,000 leaders.
Previously, Shelby worked in leadership and talent development for some of the world’s largest hospitality, retail, financial and healthcare brands, including Holiday Inn, Hilton, The Home Depot and Capital One. At Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Shelby developed and delivered leadership curriculum and coaching for mid-level management. He also evaluated and coordinated performance improvement coaching for new and tenured sales associates within Sales & Marketing. Prior to that time, Shelby worked at Hilton Grand Vacations, where he designed, implemented and facilitated two core leadership development programs to instill leadership and management skillsets in internal team members and middle management leaders.
Education and Certifications
Currently, Shelby is a Ph.D. candidate in Management Education at Capella University. He also holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of South Florida. Shelby holds certifications in Professional Coaching and Succession Management. He is also certified to administer and interpret Myers-Briggs (MBTI) and DiSC.
